But again and again, the problem with Nee's analysis is that, while it is unopposed that there is such a thing as God's authority in the universe, and while it is probably not reasonably questioned that God can and does exercise this authority through living human beings, the concept that God has set up "deputy authorities" to have an appointment as a benevolent and gentle ruler over a governmentally arranged company called "the church" is just without basis in the Scriptures.
