I'm not sure if the BB's as a whole still believe in the principles of the new way. It seems that Lee moved on in his later years, however, the talk about the new way seems to always get pulled out of the attic when the brothers start getting concerned about the lack of increase or small numbers. I've seen in in the LC I'm from. In fact, there was a home meeting I was going to that got so small that I was one of the only ones who dependably came. Anyways, the point is that LC elders and leaders have yet to critically asses the real reasons for the lack of increase. They prefer instead to promote Lee's imagined utopian church life which never was and never will be.

Even if the projections are extremely conservative say 2%, for an assembly of 50 that's 1 person a year. Is that realistic? In any given assembly it's achievable growth. The local church culture that has shifted to being ministry churches, it's not viable for consistent growth. It would require someone who embraces the vision of the ministry.
