The impression given here by the unnamed brother is that Witness Lee himself was being manipulated. Titus Chu often told us stories implying the same thing about Lee.

I have come to the conclusion, with the benefit of history, that Lee was never taken advantage of by his underlings. Lee himself manipulated the statistics for his own gain.
