I started a thread on the 'apologetics' section called "The Psalms are the word of Christ". There are over 800 posts but if you read the first 35 or so, you'll get the idea. The Psalms were repeatedly cited in the NT as indicative of the experiences of Jesus. But unless forced by explicit citation, RecV footnotes stress the psalm-writers' sinful status as invalidating textual claims of fidelity and divine reward.

But I replied that the NT stresses Jesus' fidelity and the divine reward: "God has raised him from the dead and given him glory" - see Peter on Psalm 16, in Acts 3. The entire NT continues this. Paul called the Psalms the "word of Christ" and twice encouraged their singing, in Col. 3 and Eph. 5. But Lee panned this, and said we should instead sing verses from Colossians and Ephesians!

I found all this to be a remarkable deviation from the NT pattern.
