Default Re: Does LSM’s Recovery Version Resolve Bible Difficulties?

The quick and to the point answer is NO!

Quote:
LSM’s Recovery Version is described as1 “One of the most comprehensive study Bibles available today.”
Not TRUE. There are some very, very good Bible Study bibles out there. You have to do the research and be led by the Lord to pick one. The internet also has some very good studies on any subject you wish to research. There is also E-Sword (which I have NOT used) and Bible Gateway.com which I use often.
The sad fact is there are very few serious bible students around in the Christian community. Many prefer to sit at a preacher/teachers' feet and then repeat what he said/wrote verbatem without letting the LORD truly enlighten them to a true understanding of the Word of God. I have several spiritual mentors whose writings I study closely. But I don't take everything they say/write as 'gospel truth'. If we ask the Lord to give us Wisdom and UNDERSTANDING of HIS WORD, surely the Lord will enlighten us. The LORD JESUS sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us in all TRUTH and Jesus is the Way, the TRUTH and the LIFE.

Jesus as the WORD was also in the beginning with GOD and WAS GOD. (John 1:1) In the Beginning, The WORD was the second person of the Godhead. He was not given the name JESUS until God the Father sent Gabriel to Mary and told her she was to bring forth a SON, conceived by the HOLY SPIRIT and HIS Name would be called JESUS.

The LSMrs are zealots. If only they were true zealots for the service of GOD and of HIS WORD through the Holy Spirit working in them and through them, they could be used mightily in the work of the Lord for the gospel. BUT, I find them to be more zealots of Witness Lee & his teachings. The Word of God has become a crutch to Lee's interpretation rather than the other way around.

To ME, a good Bible teacher/preacher is someone who gives me a stronger desire to pray, to study the Word of God carefully, prayerfully, to fellowship with believers and to share the gospel. If my heart, my spirit is filled with the desire to KNOW GOD, our ABBA Father, His SON, our Redeemer, Saviour, Lord and KING, JESUS, and the Holy Spirit, our counselor, our Guide who points us to JESUS, that is a good teacher. If my focus is on the LORD and not on the messenger, the LORD truly blesses me and my spirit then SOARS.

Do I thank the Lord for my spiritual mentors? Of course. I also pray I would not be deceived! Very important in this day we're living in!

The third purpose of the [Recovery Version] notes is to help us to solve the common and hard problems in the New Testament.
I have just posted a long study on the Crowns which stemmed from my interest in 2 Timothy 4:8 (the Crown of Righteousness). I then went to the other crowns, then to the Judgment seat of Christ where I learned the crowns would be our rewards. That led me to Revelation 4:4 which I kept going over and over and over. I used various study aids with prayer. I did not go the RcV footnotes FIRST. When I study a subject matter, I pray for Wisdom and Understanding. I cross-reference the subject over & over until I truly have the Peace of God and His Understanding. Once I grasp it thoroughly, I am able to explain it from my spirit, from my heart without saying 'So & So said this or wrote that'. There is NOTHING WRONG with giving credit to a messenger who guides you to the Word of God and gives you understanding.
Because of these forums, I was curious to know what Lee's thoughts on this was. What I discovered is he wrote in his footnotes that the 24 elders were angelic beings. In the RcV, he gave no scriptural backing to prove his opinion being correct.
Using scriptures, I rebutted his opinion.

I don't expect or 'HOPE' anyone sees it 'my way'. Let the LORD enlighten, ignite and strengthen the hearts and spirits of every person on this forum, HIMSELF. But according to
colossians 3:16
,we are instructed to teach one another
Quote:
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
and like it or not, we ARE brothers and sisters IN Christ for eternity.
I have found other opinions in his footnotes over the years I refuted because they were confusing at best, but never tagged them and gave them much thought for the subject matter was not on the forefront of whatever I was studying at the time.

Quote:
In nearly every book of the New Testament there are some questions which are hard to answer and some problems and points which are hard to understand. The notes in the Recovery Version are also an attempt to solve the hard problems in the Bible to help the readers get through them….For each of these problems I have given you a proper interpretation to help you to understand them properly.
As I've written and stated before......"Brother Lee, said it, wrote it, that settles it. No questions asked. End of search." Yeah...right. I just pointed out what I consider to be an error in his footnote regarding the 24 elders in Revelation 4:4 being angels, when in fact they are not. There are other teachings I also disagree on & when the LORD wills, I will bring them to the forefront too. To be 'fair & balanced', I did get a basic understanding of some funamental biblical truths that rooted and grounded me in my Faith in Christ Jesus. But I have the saints in my locality at that time I thank the Lord for. They encouraged me in the Word of God and in fellowship.
