John's omissions are not significant. He wrote much later than the other 3, and his purpose was not to serve as a 4th witness, but to fill in the gaps that the other 3 left out. John leaves out most of what the other 3 cover until we come to the crucifixion. There was no gap to fill on the Olivet Discourse. There's another reason, I think. If John's gospel was written after he wrote Revelation, then John could not add anything concerning the Lord's return according to his own warning in Rev 22:18.
