Default Re: What "Recovery"? LSM's Major Myth Debunked - TOMES

Interesting debunking of the idea that the rebuilding of the temple was a dramatic recovery. If the Jews were so recovered, why did they remain under Gentile rule?

One alternative explanation might be that the temple had to be rebuilt so that Jesus could interact with it. Despite its inadequacies, Jesus respected the rebuilt temple, calling it His Father's house. The rebuilding of the temple is the last significant event in the OT. Four-hundred years then passed, then Jesus arrived.

The idea that the temple (Church) must be rebuilt before Jesus returns is a compelling one. Yet the facts throw a monkey wrench into the idea. The rebuilt temple was empty of God's presence. The ark was not there. So for the fulfillment to match the type, are we to look for a rebuilt Church empty of God's presence and without Christ, only to see Christ arrive unexpectedly from another angle?

Quite confusing.
