I too climbed that hill and fought too many stupid battles there. Lee's anti-Christmas stance followed that of John Darby and the Plymouth Brethren, and was mostly cultural. The "spell" was broken for me one day thinking about how one of Lee's "Seven Feasts" was on Chinese New Year. Why did Lee and the Chinese folks get to use that holiday to preach the gospel and have get-togethers, when us Americans could not celebrate our Christian holidays?

Pagan roots? Oh please. Do you know how many nasty pagan roots surround CNY? That never stopped WL and the Chinese saints from celebrating it, eating moon-pies, and yet he condemned Christmas every winter training. His lines of reasoning were so manipulative, robbing us of our freedoms. I was promised that if I took a stand for the LC and reject Christmas, then all my family would be saved into the LC.

Just because that day is so commercialized and used as a celebration for worldly parties, that was sufficient reason for us not to use that day to worship God and celebrate His birth into humanity?

And there it is - "robbing us of our freedoms." That is relying on a fleshly ordinance to try and do what!? Conform people outwardly into the image of Christ!? Ridiculous - not possible. All it does is put more bondage on a person and rob them of Christ.

I think WL’s real intention was to separate us from our families by preventing us from celebrating holidays, the very thing which brings families together.

As we all know, ALL OF THE HOLIDAYS INCLUDING CHRISTMAS are dedicated for brainwashing sessions. All those sessions include the following:

1). Bashing all other Christians outside of the LC.
2). Raising the value of the “ministry” as a way of life.
3). Destroying any kind of family time and opportunity to have normal, healthy lives with the loved ones.
4). Make sure that you aware that you are slacking, falling away individual if you chose not to attend those demonic sessions.
5). Worship Lee and the current minions as some Gods chosen group of people AKA the Chosen “church”, making sure you never leave the plantation of the blind.

Thank God for freedom and liberty that we have in Christ, rather than chains over your neck and you family, that’s causes nothing but destruction and grief!

Maybe you misunderstood the whole idea presented to you in the local church. The idea was to instill and infuse into you that you now have a new family, new husband or a new wife (meaning THE church), new parents as in you spiritual mother or a spiritual father who totally overtake your life as your guides to growth. You also have your new children, known as your spiritual fruits. All of these are you priorities above everyone in you natural blood relationships.

Christmas is for second rank believers, who are most likely unbelievers. Thus, leave them alone, and let’s have the one new man, new family, new church, unlike anything that existed before in this world, maybe besides the original apostles themselves and the first 30-40 years of the church existence, or so they claim. Since the first generation of the church failed to properly “hand down the mantle” as Ben Phillips clearly articulated, you now have the reincarnation of what once was. 😇

Yeah, I had spiritual “parents” in the LC. They loved to tell me what to do, how to spend my time and money, who to marry, where to live and go to school … in other words they loved to “play god” with other people’s lives, yet when things went south, they bore no responsibility.

It takes a while to realize that those who love to lord it over others, controlling others with legalistic ordinances of life, are the biggest hypocrites. These “parents” would publicly shame others, but when challenged they would accuse others of being rebellious. It’s a nice gig until others are on to it.
