I was at this one. Very good time. My wife and I had just left LC by that time. It was nice to see so many brothers and sisters who not only survived, after having left LC, but prospered.

HEY !

I think it's time a sister give a message from the podium alongside an LC (yeah FAT, FAT CHANCE) an LC man. So scratch that.......but how 'bout at a former LC gathering of sorts...

And if you're doing this:

I'm just rambling right now...

Are you saying that possibly some sister(s) should speak in sisters gatherings?

That already happens.....Joyce Meyers, Gloria Copeland, Beth Moore etc...

And while I don't really want to see a 'sister' teach alongside Ron Kangas, only reason for that is the LC has skewed teachings as we know.

But for the fun of it, wouldn't it be something to see a sister in the LSM/LC hold a conference ? or be a 'leading one' at a locality ?

Again...unless the LC went through a major positive overhaul, a sister givng a 'message' under the LSM/LC umbrella would be no better than Ron Kangas and company.

Why sister CMW, didn't you know that sisters are the source of all rebellions?

The "Acting god" has said so.

Now, a sister standing along side the Kangas, speaking at a conference. That would be a sight to see. Then I will know that our brother Ron has finally experienced some real transformation.

I asked my wife about the GLA sisters' gatherings with TC which were always purported to be "glorious." She said they were boring. Always about the same topic, the Proverbs 31 Woman, who was forever perfect. She said the messages brought many of them under condemnation, knowing that they could never live up to the standard. Apparently it was a little easier for the Chinese sisters.

That's not surprising, albeit a bummer. We all know as long as we hold on to the umbelical cord, which is the LC be it Lee or the GLA, women and men in Christ are simply NOT free.

The most difficult challenge for us former LCrs is discerning the baby from the bathwater. As LCrs, the Word of God was taught. Sometimes it was 'RIGHT ON the MARK' othertimes especially the 80s & 90s imho, very squewd.

So when we read the Word and fellowship outside the LC perameters, and what we were taught in the LC is correct, it's almost hard for us to 'humble' ourselves and say, 'that was a correct teaching we were taught in the LC.'

I think most of the time, we former LCrs would prefer to pick apart the LSM/LC rather than agree with some of the things we were taught.

That's why it is good for us to fellowship with strong, steadfast Christians outside the LC. Not everything the Pentecostals, Charasmatics, Fundamental denominations teach is 'the gospel truth' either.

Still. As long as we continue to fix our eyes on Jesus and open our hearts to our brothers & sisters in Christ, we will receive abundant blessings.

As for us sisters in Christ, never be afraid to share, to teach, to preach the Word of God as the Holy Spirit leads.

Ohio, I never lived in the GLA and have no first hand experience with Titus. But recently I began to comb through the messages that he gave to the sisters, and I agree with your wife's assessment.

Through my study of those messages, I found that Titus not only wanted the sisters to do all the "heavy lifting" for the sake of the church life and their husbands, he also expected sisters to carry a major part of the elders' responsibility.

Titus expects the sisters to shepherd the lost saints (coins), especially those who no longer come to the meetings.

In this matter Titus seems to operate much like the Anaheim Blendeds. Instead of obeying Witness Lee's 1997 charge to care passionately for the flock of God, the Blendeds routinely push this primary responsibility onto others to carry out. For example, the FTTA Graduates are being asked to shepherd lost/dormant ones in addition to gaining new fruit off the campus.

This presumptive attitude on the part of Titus and the Blendeds reminds me of the Lord's warning concerning the Scribes and Pharisees:

Matthew 23:4 And they bind burdens, heavy and hard to bear, and lay them on men's (WOMEN'S?) shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with their finger.

It's no wonder the GLA sisters were under such heavy condemnation.

P.S.

Did you notice that the Church in Cleveland website is not about God our Savior or His children, but 99.94% about Titus Chu, his ministry, and his empire. That's my objection to the LC's. The Bible talks about the church of God, the church of Christ, and the church of the saints, but never mentions the church of the workers. But that's what the Church in Cleveland is. That church exists to build up one man's work.

If you want to hear some ministry that is not focused on THE WORK check out these recent recordings of John Ingalls.

A dear fellow soldier has just made me aware of 6 Conference Messages that John Ingalls delivered in Accra Ghana - West Africa, in 2008.

Walking in the Spirit & Reigning in Life - December 24-28 2008 - www.TheChurchesInAfrica.com

May these "simple", yet profound messages help us see more clearly how to walk in the Spirit, and how to meet God's need!
