This is probably the single biggest reason why we hate corruption in our government, but this is the definition corruption.

They use their power and authority, which was given to them to act as shepherds of the flock, and they use it to take the possessions of others.

The examples are incredible, the one that shocked me the most is the law concerning copyright of DNA. Some company made a special corn which was immune to their weed killer, then when the sprayed the weed killer they could kill the weeds instead of the grain. So far so good. But not everyone wanted to buy their seed from them. So they sued these people. They would take corn off of their land that had been pollinated by the wind. Prove that their copyrighted DNA was in their corn and sue them. This is Jezebel.

We have seen WL and LSM also operate this way. They have seized meeting halls from saints by using the courts. They have sued Christians and won the lawsuits merely because the Christians could not afford a protracted legal battle. They have excommunicated people merely because they published a Christian ministry without using LSM. They have stoned saints for "blasphemy".

Clinton's email scandal was all about "pay to play", indicating that those who contributed to her foundation or hired Bill Clinton to speak were then afforded special access to the Secretary of State.

There is also a suggestion now that those who would like to curry favor from the newly elected administration merely need to pay for lavish parties at one particular set of hotels.

I get the basic premise, you find a storage locker with a million dollars in 5 dollar bills I think it is reasonable to suspect this money was gathered through criminal means and I think it reasonable for the "owner" to produce documentation on how they came by this million dollars in cash. Not unlike how we got Capone for tax evasion.

But this has gone to the logical extreme of seizing five or ten thousand dollars in cash from people who are going to an auto auction or some other very reasonable explanation.

The problem with this law is that it is very likely that 2 billion seized by the police were indeed a result of criminal enterprise. So those in favor of it have plenty of ammunition. The drug bust with a million dollars in cash, or shutting down a money laundering scheme. In that event I think it is great that the money is not left in a police evidence locker but goes to defray the cost of law enforcement.

On the other hand there are plenty of examples of how the law has clearly been abused, in which case the police do appear as the biggest group of organized criminals in the nation.

The worst part about it is that only the poor will be abused by this law as someone who is able to hire good legal counsel will be able to get their assets back in most cases where they have a lawful right to it.

As for Trump when he said there was "no need for Sheriff's to reform the law" I think it was understood that what was meant was there was "no need for Sheriff's to want to reform the law".

The biggest vineyard out there is health insurance. On average it is $10,000 per year per person in the US. When considering the entire US that is several trillion dollars a year!

The gas station up the street had a smoke shop inside as a marketing edge. It was run by a couple immigrants who also sold synthetic THC to special customers. They got busted, of course, and their home was raided, where huge amounts of cash were found.

The judge only slapped them on the hands since they were willing to "donate" all their cash to the county for drug rehab and prevention.

I think the hospitals are leading the corruption. My doctor told me recently that he could get an MRI for $300, but UPMC charges $5000.

No doubt the insurance companies do "protect" you from that with their "in network" doctors, etc.

But my experience in both England and Taiwan was so pleasant compared to the US I just can't buy this whole narrative about how the US health care is better than socialized medicine. I had a compound fracture, both legs, and it broke the skin. England took care of it without a hiccup even though I was just visiting for a year. I had malignant melanoma in Taiwan, again, took care of it immediately (within hours of the diagnosis), very professional, good lab work, etc. Both times I didn't have to pay a dime, even though I was just a visitor.

I would definitely support an expansion of medicare. Even if the top 1% want something different, then let their be insurance companies that supply care in addition to medicare, but medicare should be the base for all Americans.

By law these hospitals have to treat people before getting paid. The government passes these laws but doesn't fund them. Any procedure required to be given regardless of financial capability should be paid for by medicare, not the hospital.

The US inevitably is going the way of single-payer health care. We need a gov't agency to step in and put some price-freeze on expenses.

We already practice socialism. Police, fire, and school are three examples. We use to have a capitalist fire department, if you hadn't paid for the service they let your house burn down. Of course that was dangerous for the neighbors, etc.

The same is true of health care. Why would you want to share the bus, train, airplane, grocery store, etc. with people who had TB and other contagious diseases but couldn't afford to go to the doctor and treat it?

Senator McCain is in the hospital with a very dangerous brain cancer. Wouldn't our soul be damaged as a society if we let our elderly, like McCain, simply die because they couldn't afford health care?

Also, everyone's health will benefit if we treat everyone. Today, in the day of big data, every treatment can be analyzed to determine if there is some otherwise unknown health risk. Consider the poor and elderly as the "canary in the coal mine".

According the World Health organization America ranks 37th in healthcare. You're telling me that the richest and greatest nation in the world can't provide universal healthcare to all its citizens? Insider trading is illegal, yet all of these officials do it. The people who are regulators make piss poor salaries and their one big hope in life is to get hired by someone they should be prosecuting to a fat salary. If Obama didn't clean this up after the mortgage crisis he inherited then the only way I think this really gets dealt with is after the US goes bankrupt. Perhaps the next revolution will focus on the regulation of financial markets.

Suppose you are billionaire, you want to convert your profits in the stock market to cash but don't want to pay tax. You talk to Trump, he makes you a cabinet member, and presto, you get to do that tax free. However you don't want to stay as a cabinet member. No problem, use govt airplanes to the tune of 1 million, apologize, resign, and poof -- tens of millions of dollars in tax savings, free flights, and you don't have to do anything.
