Consider this.....

Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, whether your experience is as a Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, an atheist, a Communist, a Capitalist, a child of the 60’s, a conservative, a liberal, a libertarian, a king or a pauper, etc, etc,

Whatever experience one accumulates from their station in life, it does not change the biblical truth that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life even if they allow their experience to filter out that truth.

I think you know that.

I do know that. But you cannot possibly know what it means for Jesus to be way, truth and life without a certain amount of life experience. Also, without experiencing the Holy Spirit teaching you what it means, you cannot know what it truly means. So all true Bible understanding is based on experiences.

We say that people get wiser with age. What makes them wiser? Not that they get smarter, but that they experience life and get a new perspective. My perspective on what the Bible means has changed with experience. So it's not just about the words. The words have absolute meaning, but I believe you cannot really know what some of it means without going through certain experiences.

Unless, even as a Christian, you are willing to live in a grossly legalistic society where all life's decisions are made for you.

Remember, the Bible does not say that we walk by rules or teachings even from scripture, rather we walk by the Spirit, and we walk by faith. Both of which require a continual "experience" of our Lord within.

Metaphysically our life cannot but be based on experience, because all our cognition comes through some kind of experience. Our realization of things is always affected by who and what we are.

For example, "love one another" means different things based upon what you think love means.

And what's cool is we really don't know for sure at all times who has the best perspective. Therefore we become humble, depending on each other and the Lord to see the light.
