An online FTT? LOL. What? Do they think they're an accredited university? Fanatics will fall for anything.

Not accredited. I just wanted to be a better and more absolute brother and impress the elders with my commitment. I kept it secret because you're not supposed to put yourself forward. When I did mention it in passing one elder looked at another and asked if he approved this. They shook their heads no. None asked about the courses. Since the online FTT does not require elder permission or recommendation I think it should be obvious that it's not the "real deal" like those in the face-to-face training receive. Nothing about the Lord's Recovery being the move of God on the earth (at leasst from the three courses I took). WL was not promoted as the Minister of the Age, but all of the materials were by him and published via LSM. Probably most evangelicals would be comfortable with what was presented. They made a strong point that although all scripture is inspired by God, not all scripture is God's word. Apologies to Kumbaya for skewing his thread onto a tangent!

I suppose that depends how one wants to receive translation of 2nd Timothy 3:16. Is All scripture God-breathed or God inspired?
From recollection one of the songs that came out of the Timothy trainings was All Scripture is God-breathed.....
Now if those at Living Stream want to reverse course and say it's not God breathed, but God inspired, I could see why especially with James , Micah, Proverbs, and Psalms.

God-inspired means that all the writers of scripture were "men sent by God spoke as they were compelled by the Holy Spirit." (II Peter 1.21)

So even if the writer of the Bible repeated the words of Satan tempting the Lord Jesus in the wilderness, those written words we have today were still "compelled by the Holy Spirit."

Those same words, by definition, are "God-breathed."

This brings up a question I've had....

What's the situation with what WL said about the book of James? I heard someone tell me an elder told them (I know, hearsay!) that James really shouldn't be included in the Bible and you didn't need to read it.

Hopefully that is an individual case and I doubt WL said that- but I do remember hearing about some books being "lower"....Just don't think there's a reason to go there.

Kumbaya, read near the bottom of Section 2 of Chapter 1 of “Life Study of James” on-line version (easy to Google). That way we don’t violate copyright or paraphrase wrongly.
