I think we have to ask the question why was the ark not returned to the restored temple. The question is even more pointed given that its glory was supposed to be greater!

If you consider that the ark was a type of Christ, and that Christ is the true ark, then perhaps we have our answer. The ark was restored when Jesus arrived.

This is along the same principle shown when Jesus said the least in the kingdom what greater than the greatest prophet, John the Baptist (Matt 11:11). Lee taught rightly here. The closer you are to Christ, the greater your status.
