Yeah... they would reason it away by saying things like "you don't give meat to babies."

And many of us, even if we inwardly objected, outwardly accepted this instruction. Heck, some of us outwardly objected, but when we realized the leading ones would not budge, we simply accepted the situation for fear of being seen as ones who were "stirring up trouble and division."

You know, "in our mind" and "in our self" and "in our flesh" and "dead right." All that fun stuff.
