DCP, Separate Legally, But One Intrinsically

DCP Stands for "Defense and Confirmation Project" and was recently the subject of a blog post from shepherdingwords.com. A website used by "The Lord's Recovery" movement to "address rumors".

Below are quotes pulled directly from that post that highlight the reality of this "Project"

Reason for establishment:

“When opposition to the Lord’s ministry in His recovery damaged the Lord’s move through the local churches in the late 1970s, Brother Lee called brothers together to consider how to respond.”

Interesting, “The Lord’s move” can be damaged by man, the very thing He created?

“The Defense & Confirmation Project (DCP) was established to “defend and confirm the New Testament ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and the practice of the local churches.””

Further in the article:

“DCP is incorporated as a 501(c)(3) entity and is not a part of LSM. It operates under the oversight of the co-workers, and whatever it produces for publication is sent to one or more editors in the editorial section of Living Stream Ministry (LSM) for review.”

Living Stream Ministry, founded by Witness Lee, publishes the works of Witness Lee & Watchman Nee. Defending these works is the reason DCP was established (as stated in the article).

While legally separate, their mission statement is to defend and confirm the works Living Stream Ministry publishes.

“Misrepresentations or twisting others’ words are by nature works of darkness and unrighteousness. In contrast, DCP endeavors to demonstrate that the ministry in the Lord’s recovery cuts straight the word of the truth”

What ministry is in the Lord’s Recovery? Living Stream Ministry. There’s a published work called “PUBLICATION WORK
IN THE LORD’S RECOVERY” explaining that the “Lord’s Recovery” will only subscribe to Living Stream Ministry. Here’s a direct quote:

“Today we must be diligent to continue this practice of the trumpeting in the one publication in a practical way through the publication service of Living Stream Ministry...”

All the saints and all the churches everywhere should similarly be restricted in one publication in the Lord’s recovery

To summarize: DCP was established to defend the works of Lee and Nee. These works are published only by Living Stream Ministry (founded by Witness Lee). This ministry states that the Lord’s Recovery must use only one publication, that publication? Living Stream Ministry.


The Lord’s Recovery distinguishes itself from Christians:

“To remove such books from circulation is a service not only to the Lord’s recovery but to the Christian public..”

DCP Keeps files on people.

“DCP also has files related to various controversies and to subjects of interest…”

If you speak critically, they file what you say.

“None of this is nefarious. Fashioning appropriate responses is dependent on accurate records concerning historical events and what has been said and by whom.”

Let’s recap, DCP’s mission is to defend the works of Lee & Nee. They keep files on what people said, so they can “fashion appropriate responses”. It would appear they keep files on anyone who speaks critically of those works.

DCP fights and defends the ministry of Nee & Lee

“DCP’s charge is to both fight directly and to equip the saints to affirm and defend the full scope of the New Testament revelation concerning God’s economy as it has been brought to us through the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.”

Closing:

While legally not associated with Living Stream Ministry, this organization works to fight and defend them. Their claims about being separate are smoke & mirrors to hide the reality, that stated by them is to defend Nee & Lee’s works.

They keep files on those who speak critically against Living Stream Ministry, they litigate Christians outside the recovery, and ensure that the Lord’s Recovery subscribed to one publication.

Please pray that God would open the eyes of those stuck in this controlling, dangerous system.
