Harold Camping — Like Lee and the LRC?

Not exactly on topic for this grouping, but seemed to fit here best.

I was reading a blog concerning the Harold Camping "Return of Christ" prediction — or missed prediction — and where this one went reminded me of Lee and the LRC with respect to their whole system, especially the constant life-support that the BBs seem to be giving the organization.

Can anybody tell me something new
so another charlatan bites the dust
We can’t believe the old preacher man
man oh man who else can we trust?

Can anybody tell me they’re surprised
so another false prophet found a liar
He chopped some wood he sowed some hay
hey it’s all more fuel for the fire

Can anybody tell me it’s all good
and it’s unchristlike to hold a grudge
Let’s pound them with what is written

Can anybody out there turn a cheek
and just let ignorance be ignored
Let’s all get over our sacred cows
but wait, that’s MY ox you just gored!

Can anybody out there say Amen
and know that the clock is still a runnin
Just ‘cause some people can’t tell the time
Judgment day is still a comin

Well, this writer was sympathetic to a fault. As one commenter said, Camping was a con artist. He was a true believer, like Lee, but all his earnestness couldn't lift him above being a con artist as well. Funny how that works.
