Between 2005 and 2015 in California the hymnal (changed little since mid- 1980's) was used at the Sunday meeting. The saints tend to repeat the lines from it as if they were scripture now. A song book with selections from the hymnal and songs composed by local church saints was used in home and campus meetings. Both have many good songs for worshipping the Lord, but contain elements of worshipping "the Church Life" or the church too. The joy of the Lord and outpouring of the Spirit during singing (and everything else) seemed greatly diminished versus late 70's and early 80's to me.
