Since I am more familiar with Christians in the LC's, I would say that many of them "
fit the description" which Jesus spoke of here in Matthew 13.11-15.
The primary reason is pride. Sadly, the ministry of Witness Lee was a ministry of condemnation (
regularly condemning all Christians outside the LCM) which filled his listeners with the arrogant pride of elitism (
teaching they are the Lord's best) and exclusivism (
teaching no one else has what they have.)
Those in the LCM are like those stuck in Judaism during Jesus' day -- they listen to their leaders' interpretation of God's word rather than directly listening what God is speaking in His word.
