While in Southern California back in the day I really appreciated John's unassuming, kind and gentile spirit. Of course those who were in San Diego can surely testify to much more regarding this man of God. I believe our sister Countmeworthy will have more than a few words for us regarding brother John Smith.

Many brothers and sisters appreciated John's calming spirit and rock solid faithfulness to the Lord and his Word during the tumultuous days of the late 80s in Southern California. John refused to "go with the flow" in unreservedly and mindlessly following Witness Lee and his most ardent minions, and of course he paid a big price for his faithfulness to the Lord and his Word. But later the Lord rewarded him and he went on to have a valuable ministry to the people of India. (maybe some other places as well).
