No doubt. I totally agree with you on this. It's only with much courage and difficulty can one really speak up. My experience is it helps if you've developed some clout within the group. I wish that wasn't so. If I were running things I would go out of the way to invite genuine responses from bros/sis even if things would seem to err on too much opinion. But I don't run much of anything.

With an "elder", yes. I personally have. I have raised objections and I received surprising responses. I believe they were genuine fellowship.
With an "absolute brother" - that's a really loaded term. But if a person can't see past the end of his/her nose, then, likely probably not.
