We are praying too, to turn this situation around for John and Sharon. We are with you in this and so is God.

If you are thinking to follow Nell's advice, we pray for the opportunity to come to you, as we understand the risk and difficulties.

Additionally, if you are thinking to give him these posts from this forum, on this matter, I want to add the following:

Another layer of how this is a really pivotal and dangerous place John is in.... a tyrannical despotic ruler who gains power over a nation by force, is ever insecure and even paranoid. The reason is simple, he knows the people didn't choose him, thereby he holds his position illegitimately in the moral sense. But his people will suffer the effects of his fears....Susan may achieve gaining John by her morally illegitimate means, but she will ever be aware that he didn't choose her. This will be a cause of her feeling deeply insecure, and her fears will manifest in further problems for John. She may demand constant evidence of love from him, be suspicious and jealous, to a point where life becomes very difficult for John. Control from her will get more and more suffocating, and the pressure from 'the elders' will be on her side of the argument, unless he woos some high-up members of the LC as a deliberate tactic early on, to safeguard himself. He's clearly not the type to do that though.

That's my prediction. The set-up will be harmful to Susan as well, but with the power base on her side, John may well become the one to carry it, not her.

From your description of his character, he sounds like the perfect candidate to be exploited by LC narcissism and no doubt is therefore even a predictable target, for controllers to desire to engage with, (become engaged to!!) But only so they can devour him.

But if John won't listen now, he is destined to learn the hard way. Whatever you risk to inform him will not be wasted in the long run, I beleive. In fact his memory of your effort might just be what enables him to escape it all at some future point in his life. (It was someone's foresight and unwelcome comment at the time, that really helped me in the confusion and aftermath of my own rough journey. That person I deeply respect today.)

I am praying John meets Sharon somewhere unexpectedly and they get to talk away from the LC.
