Worse than political parties becoming religious is churches becoming political. I am on the verge of emailing our pastor to consider removing the American flag from the sanctuary. Seems too much like an idol for a foreign god in the temple. Like an Ashteroth pole.
Fortunately, other than the presence of the flag, this assembly avoids overt political involvement. But listening to some of the people talk makes me think that removing the flag will cause a minor uproar for some.
