You're right! I know I've made a lot of mistakes and hurt a of people, but I've tried to keep short accounts and make amends where I can. I was quite impessed at the curch we attend when I saw church discipline in action. A sister repented to the whole church and asked for forgiveness for moving out with a guy for nearly a year. She was restored to the fellowship and forgiven with open arms. I have NEVER seen anything like that in the LC. Ever.
In the LC, I know they deny this, it's who you are. If your the son or daughter of an elder you're golden, untouchable. If your a single sister, you're nothing. I hated how they used the church in Corinth to justify the behavior of some of the saints. "It's still God's church." Did they even read Corinthians properly? Paul wasn't saying, "Oh, this is just what the church is. Deal with it." He was rebuking them and encouraging them to repent.
