Nice timely topic Kevin. I would add “those who consider themselves to be apostles and/or prophets” to this articles’ topic, as Lee and other “apostolics” applied these Old Testament to themselves.

Other thoughts I had on this same topic yesterday before you posted this (really) are:

1. Christ is God’s anointed in this age and beyond.

2. All believers with the Father’s eternal life have an anointing from Him (1 John 2:27) see https://biblehub.com/blb/1_john/2.htm

So, claiming a limited anointing for a certain Christian leader(s) is suspect for sure, and has been abused too often.
