Re: Works of the flesh to avoid
One of the things that caught my eye about this list was the word English speakers have transliterated into “heresy”, which Christians often accuse each other of. The concordance definitions weren’t what I was expecting. Strongs’ for example says the following:
◄ 139. hairesis ►
hairesis: choice, opinion
Original Word: αἵρεσις, εως, ἡ
Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine
Transliteration: hairesis
Phonetic Spelling: (hah'-ee-res-is)
Definition: choice, opinion
Usage: a self-chosen opinion, a religious or philosophical sect, discord or contention.
Does this “ring a bell” for you about how TLR operates? It sure does for me.
More on the other works of the flesh later.
