The Apostle Paul did say, "
all can prophesy one by one," yet that saying was interestingly taken out of context. The question then becomes who was Paul referring to. The context of this verse (I Corinthians 14.29-32) indicates that Paul was not referring to the whole church, but to certain approved prophets.
It was Witness Lee who came along to declare that
all church members were prophets, just as long as they were repeating his messages. I doubt that another Christian scholar, past or present, would support this interpretation. If there was, Lee would have promoted them, as he did with Athanasius' "make man God" teaching.
