I just wanted to chime in quickly and add that their explanation is how I interpreted "reckless" the first time I heard it. I have a friend who was called to the scene of a bad accident one time and was so concerned with the people in trouble that he rushed through a chemical spill to get to them, endangering his health in the process. That's how I interpreted it - God's love for us is so great that He was willing to "rush in" and do whatever it took to save us.
