Amen, dear brother. Having a solid, Scriptural, pattern of such "translation" is very helpful. To see that "Jesus is the Christ" worked very well for those attached to Judaism, but that "Jesus is Lord" worked much better for the heathen Greeks is really an eye opener! As dear brother Nigel says, "There is only one gospel; its core is the Person and work of Jesus Christ. Any other gospel is a 'different gospel,' which ought to be rejected (Gal. 1:6-9). Yet this unique message can be presented in various ways, depending on the audience."
The last sentence of the article is really precious: "To effectively reach our neighbors, friends, colleagues and relatives with the good news of Jesus Christ requires translating the gospel into contemporary terms they can understand while preserving its life-changing power."
