At one point, a few years back, I read the H.H. story. He took over a widely-known Christian apologetics ministry (Walter Martin) and made it his personal cash cow. He got, I'm going by memory here - something like $400,000 per year. Wife was Associate director or something like that, she got like $125,000. They got his-and-hers Lexus', membership to the swanky golf club ($2,000/year), a house worth several hundred thousand, all paid for, tax-free, by the non-profit 'ministry'.
All this was public record, because this was a non-profit corporation forced to show the 'books'.
And he left behind a trail of embittered former staffers, who ghost-wrote Hank's material for minimum wage and no credit.
Pretty sad stuff.
