That is the reason that Lee's teachings are poor. He had to have everything represented everywhere. The verse in question refers to the Father because it is part of a prayer by Jesus to the Father. It goes like this:

Quote:
Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you . . . . Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
To know the Father and the Son is sufficient. It is correct to declare that if they know the one true God, they will know the whole of Him — Father, Son, and Spirit. But that is not what is said here. It is not important to ignore the significance of the words spoken and instead add others or replace some. If the Father is to be known, and also the Son, does that mean that the Spirit has to be known in the same sense? Jesus did not infer that. This does not relegate the Spirit to subservient status, or mean that the Spirit is left out. But to always insist on forcing al three into every verse that mentions one is to ignore that the Father is the Father. The Son is not. Neither is the Spirit. That means something. I will admit that I am not entirely sure what. But it is not meaningless.

So rather than trying to redefine God the way you like it, why not deal with what is actually written for us. Eternal life is knowing the Father and the Son. Doesn't mean that we don't know the Spirit. But the particular statement did not say that we do. Why? I don't know. And neither do you. And to presume to restate it to be all-inclusive is to presume that the omission was an error in drafting the scripture.
