Re: How Much To Throw Out?
This is a response to Igzy's excellent new (April 2, 2016) thread Summing Up. The reason I posted my response here is because it focuses so much on my personal situation. If admin wants to move it to Summing Up that's fine.
Thanks Igzy, that was really good. Your first point reminds me of what Aron often says that God is like a "businessman" that can use everything to "turn a profit", so to speak. He might also be like a physician who may prescribe a dangerous drug for a season to bring about long term healing. The latter is true in my case. The Lord hooked me up with some LC brothers and sisters whose spark for loving the Lord and people had not been snuffed out by LSM legalism and the blended's pride. My love for the Lord deepened and became more vital. When the Lord decided that the "treatment" was finished He pulled the curtains back and exposed the ugly naked unrighteousness of some of the local elders, and then of WL and the LSM blendeds. Kind of like going "cold turkey" and having withdrawal pains months on end. Our God may be a businessman or a physician, but He definitely is not a "sugar-daddy"; just consider the suffering he allowed His Son to experience, or the torture and martyring of many dear and gentle brothers and sisters. It truly is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10
…31It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 32But remember the former days, when, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, 33partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated.… NIV from Biblehub
