I remember coming across one of these picketers as I was driving away from a regional type conference in Santa Clara or San Jose (not Burlingame) where Ron Kangas was speaking. Can't remember the hotel exactly.

One of the people in my car saw someone that held up a sign that said "the Local Church ruined my family". I empathized with them because this was around the time I had already decided to leave the LCs and was fantasizing about escape plans in my mind but was feeling dejected because I couldn't see how my wife who was dragging me to all these conferences and trainings at the time would also come around to it.

I wanted to go to talk to one of them but there were others in my car at the time. I think folks like them that have been dearly hurt could find healing at a forum such as this.
