Actually brothers identified as being divisive (Nigel Tomes, John Ingalls, etc) are actually concerned brothers reacting to divisiveness. There is a common denominator of the late 80's and that of the GLA turmoil. Those currently in the lead at LSM were part of the problem in both turmoils instead of being part of the solution.
