Re: Regarding Tom McNaughton (Toledo)
Toledo Blade obit ...
Quote:
McNAUGHTON, Tom
Tom McNaughton, 69, passed away April 11, 2015, of Toledo, was a lot of things. "Exasperating" comes to mind. Curmudgeon, perhaps. A loyal friend and a good man to have on your side (he could dead lift 315 lbs). Above all, he was a follower of Christ.
Tom earned a Bronze star, Purple Heart, Air Medal, and Combat Infantry Badge for his service with the 1st Cav in Vietnam. He married Karen Booher and for 45 years they relentlessly pursued the Lord together - even if it wasn't always pretty.
...The mustache came by storm in the latter years of his life (it lifted weights with him).
As Tom sleeps, he leaves Karen; his children, Jim (Cindy), Jesse, Peter (Betsy), Cori (Doug), Zachariah, Asher (Christina), and Leah (Rick); brothers, Bill and James (Sue); 16 grand kids, and several feral cats. His brother Rodger preceded him.
The Viking funeral didn't pan out, so services will be held at H.H. Birkenkamp Funeral Home Friday, Visitation 4-8, Service 8-9. In lieu of flowers, the family asks all donations go to Tom's niece, Katy Hayes.
Tom would want laughter, not mourning, and so we do our best. But he is missed. Our comfort lies in knowing we will see him again.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" 2 Tim 4:7
