Ohio, I never asserted that I was "
presenting a cross-section of Christian scholarship" because I am not convinced that a cross-section of Christian scholarship will reveal the truth of the scriptures. I think every teaching must be weighed carefully. My objections to Tomes' is his dogmatic dismissal of these bible teachers in favor of modern ones... he makes the argument as if modern means better informed and therefore more credible. I disagree with that.
