I have heard it alluded to that maybe some saints felt that the songs in the supplement weren't as good as the original hymnal??? I know the young people like the more lively songs in the supplement. Didn't WL criticize the brothers for including the last song in the supplement from Rev 21, "Behold the tabernacle of God is with men"?
To my recollection, the songs in the supplements were mostly sang at the gospel feast. (The hymnals were not used at the gospel feasts.) At the meetings, we alternated from the supplements to the hymnals and the hymnals were almost exclusively used at the Lord's table.

The brothers also put music to many of the Psalms. That is how I remember the Psalms even today. (Women, of course were never used in the LC except to 'testify' and share the gospel.)

Many of the songs if you recall had "worldly" tunes and after the Max Rappaport fallout which was about the same time the gospel feasts ended, the supplement was no longer used.

I'm pretty sure no one sings the Psalms either since Lee seemed to tear those blessed prayers of Praise and Thanksgiving apart.
