Perhaps "institutional" is not the best choice of words. A better choice of words might be: coerced, mandatory, taken for granted, unappreciated, etc.
Maybe I had blinders on.. but honestly, I don't recall those kind of problems in San Diego. Of course, back then, we were called a 'young people's church'. Most of the congregation were in their 20s' and the elders of the church were young themselves. We hardly had any teenage LC born kids. So we were a very hospitable congregation.

It's not like that anymore I'm sure. As the babies and toddlers grew into pre teens and teenagers, I'm sure there was less of communal living environment, less hospitality and less home gatherings.

But I can accept that. Marriages and families are challenging even in the best of times! However badmouthing??? WOW... no excuse for that!

Where is the consideration of others! Those people should have been caring for YOU knowing you were in a predicament Ohio! Shame on them!

I pray and hope all Jehovah Raphi, our Healer has helped you and your family to put the past behind and hold on to His Promise that He makes ALL things new, while we reminisce the past.
