Default 2 Testimonies in Hebrews 11 - DAVID CANFIELD

Recent correspondence from David Canfield:
-------------------------------------------------------------

Hello - I've just completed a study from Hebrews that I wanted to send out to my fellow believers. I hope you find it helpful.

Grace to you, David

The Introduction states that, in Hebrews 11, the writer...

...Separates out Abel and Enoch from all who follow in the history of faith. Why does he do this? It is to show us that these two different men give us the foundation for all that follows in this chapter. That is, in them we see the two distinct testimonies we must have as we follow after the Lord in the way of faith.

In brief, the testimony of Abel is that of being righteous before God, while the testimony of Enoch is that of being well-pleasing to God. If we are to have a healthy pursuit of the Lord in the way of faith, it is crucial for us to distinguish between these two testimonies, to understand the nature of each, and to be clear about their relationship to each other.
