I agree. The footnote to that verse (Matthew 25:8) says that "
going out proves that the lamps of the foolish virgins were lighted. The contained some oil but did not have an adequate supply." But Matthew 25:3 says "For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them." It seems the first set brought lamps while the second brought lamps and oil.
I don't think these or the other parables were meant to be read so allegorically, so in depth and so symbolically. This parable is among a few others that give a simple message or patience and watchfullness. Trust. That was the Lord's concern at the moment.
