..apart from work I have had the opportunity to enjoy real Bible Study with a group in town on the Book of Revelation.
I love the book of Revelation ! I have read it about 4-5..maybe 10 times !! I remember when it was pointed out to me several years ago it is the only book in the bible that tells us there is a blessing to those who read this book.

It is chapter 1 vs 3
Quote:
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the Words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Quote:
The Overcomer will be clothed in white garments; and his name will not be erased from the book of life, and his name will be confessed before God the Father and His angels (Rev 3:5).
This is a very profound verse because it says the overcomer's name will not be erased from the book of Life. Did you all discuss what that means exactly? I recall a pastor using that scripture to prove a person could lose their salvation. Their name could be erased from the book of Life meaning it once was there but God blotted it out. Now I am not going to say YEA or NAY. I personally know a lot of 'backsliders' or 'carnal' Christians. I do not believe they will lose their salvation if they truly believe Jesus is the Messiah and IS GOD and confessed His Name with a repentant heart at some point.

If they have chosen not to live sanctified lives, I believe they will not receive all the rewards that overcomers receive. However, I read a short bio of an astrologer and tarot card reader who was on Coast to Coast radio show recently. Her bio states she is an officially ordained Pentecostal pastor meaning she did not get an online pastoral degree. But some tragedy she experienced caused her to dig deep into astrology and tarot card reading.

She is quite the renowned tarot card reader/counselor and publisher of numerous books etc. So will her name be erased from the book of Life? I hope not. I am not GOD and am not her Judge.

I am wondering what the word 'erase' means.

Glad you are back. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,
Carol
