After all these years - over 20 years "in" the Local Church of Witness Lee - and now over 15 years "out" of the movement - I have gained a certain perspective of this idea of "Recovery". Really and truly what Nee and Lee said was "Recovery" was really and truly revival. They may have enunciated this idea bigger and better than some others before them, but when all the dust settles this is what "recovery" among God's people really is... it is a revival - a revival back to God and back to his Word.

Now I cannot, and will not, speak to the life and times of Watchman Nee here and now...the fruit of his life and ministry remains today in mainland China and other places throughout the world. But I can and will speak regarding the life and times of one Witness Lee.. the fruit of his life and ministry also remains with us today.

In my estimation true revival - true recovery - among God's people only comes when there is a strong and concerted turn towards the Word of God. This was true back in the "Old Testament" times, it was true in the "New Testament" times and it has remained true throughout these 2+ thousand years since Pentecost. Without true and complete turn to the written, inspired Word of God, no recovery or revival can last.
