But you might be right. Some scholars don't accept that Paul wrote I & II Timothy and Titus ; that they were written near the end of the 1st century, by someone claiming to be Paul ... a common practice back then.

Now Harold, that's not like to you just skim over my post and ignore the main points. Did you per chance miss out on your afternoon Dr. Pepper?

Look, unlike you my sources don't include frauds like Bart Ehrman and other yahoos like him. My sources are the same ones who have been tried, true and tested over hundreds of years. Yes, you will find SOME "scholars" who claim that the majority of the New Testament was written decades after the death of all the apostles. Heck, there are some "scholars" who claim that the spinning wheel in Ezekiel was alien flying saucer! Get the picture, my man?

The New Testament canon, as we know it now, at least in a very large measure, was being circulated among Christian churches by the middle of the 2nd century. There were teachers/scholars alive during that era that were only a few generations removed from the scripture writing apostles. They knew with great certainty that the writings being circulated were indeed from the original authors, and were very accurate. Through the blood, sweat and tears of many great men and women of God, and by the mercy and grace of God Himself, the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles and the Book of Revelation have been preserved for us and are indeed "God breathed" scripture.

So no controversy over the ending of Mark, no fretting and stewing over the Johannine Comma and no "gottcha" about whether Judas hung himself or his guts spilled out changes one of the major facts related to us in the New Testament. The major facts and figures as related to us in the New Testament are there for us to believe or not believe. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son". And for the purposes of this forum this is an undisputed fact. If you or anyone else wants to dispute that this or any other of the major NT themes were put in writing by the inspiration of God then you are on the wrong forum.
