I admit that it may be my failing that I find cognitive dissonance upon encountering these seemingly contradictions.
So I react to and dismiss these contradictions like Lee did. I conclude that something non-Jesus was slipped into the Psalms.

Also, David did not behave in a very much like Jesus when he threw the rock at Goliath, did he? Wouldn’t it have been much more Christ-like if David had turned the other cheek?
One way around this conundrum – dissonance, so-called – is by way of analogy. “Now, the things which are seen (David, Goliath, a slingshot) are not real, but the things which are not seen (spiritual forces) are real” (2 Corinthians 4:18)
