I tried to show in those blurbs from Schaaf's
History that Erasmus was an extremely influential ingredient of the Reformation. His contribution cannot be under-valued even though ones like Luther were critical of his endeavors. My comments about Luther were designed to also acknowledge his tremendous role in the Reformation, yet he was by no means the first MOTA of the Recovery.
In like manner, we should not be critical of others' efforts regarding the Recovery. We have to allow each to be led by the Lord. There are no requirements upon us to replicate another's path. Regarding the Recovery today, we need some Luther's, some Erasmus's, some to run a discussion forum on the web, others to post on it, and however else the members are led.
We also need ones like
Ray and
awareness to challenge us.
