Default Re: Acts and the churches

Mike, To answer you, this post was not written by Lee. Also I was not referring in the post on Acts to Local Churches of today, which are now local sects according to my understanding and conviction. I was referring to the scene at the beginning of the church age.

I made reference to those "in every place" in the first paragraph of this post on Acts. I wasn't referring just to the churches, where not everyone could meet. I said: "God's heart from the beginning of the church age is for the believers in every place to fulfill the Lord's prayer, "that they all may be one". The apostles preached, taught, and ministered to this end in the churches. This is what we see in the early churches.

There are the churches and there are those in every place, who might not be meeting with the churches, who likely were more directly under the apostles ministry.

I also said,

Note: This subject of assembling together becomes problematic as many of us realize. We could make lists of questions and scenarios for discussion about this subject.
