It was not meant to be laudatory, it was meant to address the issue by recounting some historical facts. Sorry if some of the facts of history do not place Watchman Nee in such a good light. It is what it is. Again, nothing I have posted here can take away from all the good things in the life and times of Nee. There is a very good reason why Watchman is one of the few native Chinese Christians from early to mid 20th century China to be published here in the West - the fruit from his labors is abundant and still with us today. (There...is that laudatory enough for you?)

Now, "Regarding the Ground of Locality", I think Nee went overboard. He took something from the New Testament that was at best "descriptive" and turned it into a strict requirement, an essential matter of the faith. He had his reasons for doing this, and some of them are actually very reasonable and logical, considering the time and place he found himself in. The problem is that not everybody is as spiritual, consecrated and dedicated as Watchman Nee. Actually very few are. If every Christian on earth was just like Watchman Nee the "Ground of Locality" would work just fine. But then again, if every Christian on earth was just like me, I could come up with my own church model and it would work just fine as well!
