More evidence paradise was taken to heaven:
Jesus provided the blood for the new covenant with his death on the cross:
Matthew 26:28
“For this is
my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
Paul also says Jesus bought the saints for a price (1 Corinthians 6:19–20, 7:23). So this means in theory Jesus has the legal right to rescue the righteous souls from Paradise in Hades if he wanted to.
And this is exactly what Zechariah 9:11 prophesies:
Zechariah 9:11 KJV
“As for thee also,
by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water.”
The souls of the righteous saints are referred to as "prisoners" which matches the language of Ephesians 4:8 describing Jesus taking the captives with him during his ascension
Ephesians 4:8
“When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.”
Zechariah 9:11 is also a messianic prophecy based on the context in earlier verse 9:
"... See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey."
