Joining the Baptist youth group we would do fund raising, donations for Christmas and local community food donations. As well as visiting fellow brothers and sisters in retirement villages to share our portion of Christ with eachother and give them company. As I have come back to the LC during uni and working i feel distance in my view of what the Lord wants while we are on Earth, and can see with the outward perspective looking in where I should avoid certain "ways to gather" and avoid behaviors that are worrying. The gain of daily youth and young families with children has always made me question the LC ways. And honestly makes me feel like I don't want anything to do with gosple outreach anymore. I hope that I can heal from this one day before it is too late.

I can relate. It is from meeting with a Baptist congregation in 2008, I realized just as the Baptists are a denomination, so are the local churches.
The view among the Baptist congregation is community oriented. Local churches seemed much more globally oriented and disconnected with the community.
The view among the Baptist congregation was they are part of the local body of Christ. Local churches won't acknowledge any other congregation is part of the local body of Christ. Only they are the local expression.
There really is no difference between those raised as a Baptist versus those raised in the local churches. For them, this is their experience. This is their world. They don't want to meet anywhere else. Humanly speaking, this is their comfort zone. For a churchkid, it's the local churches. For one raised as a Baptist, it's a Baptist congregation. Insert whichever denomination, and the result is the same.
