Here's a counter point to this doctrine from Jane Anderson: https://lemonstograpes.com/forums/to...-as-a-heretic/

Quote:
Romans 8:11
"But if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you"
Romans 8:11 describes a Spirit that raised Christ from the dead and dwells in believers, giving life to their mortal bodies.
This verse implies that the Spirit existed before Christ’s resurrection is the same Spirit that raised Christ and now dwells in us.

Quote:
"practices like pray-reading and calling on the name of the Lord, to name just a few").
"And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words."
Matthew 6:7

The practice of calling on the Lord repetitively as the way it is practiced in the LC is the opposite of how Jesus taught us to pray.

Calling on the Lord is more than saying the words repetitively, it issues forth from a heart which seeks God for salvation and results in repentance and turning away from wickedness to the Lord.

Quote:
Isaiah 55:6-7
"Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon."

Psalm 145:18-19
"The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them."

2 Timothy 2:22
"So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart."
In fact Jesus disowns people who call him Lord but do not repent of wickedness in Matthew 7:21-23. It's not that they were once saved and lost their salvation but that they never had it in the first place. Jesus says he never knew them so they never belonged to him and they were never his sheep and hence they do not inherit eternal life.

Quote:
Matthew 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!

John 10:27-28
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand."
So if Witness Lee got the conditions for salvation wrong you can imagine why this could be a big deal. He could be misleading thousands of people into false conversions. He could be giving people false assurance of salvation, who think they are saved but really aren't truly born again.
