Actually pride is such a wonderful feeling, and so "enjoyable." It's no wonder we can be so easily deceived and puffed up by all of the knowledge we received.
In the first chapters of 1 Corinthians, Paul exposes the pride the Corinthinans had by selectively and exclusively choosing someone to follow whom they thought was the wisest or greatest. Paul tells them that on the contrary, those they have chosen are just servants and nothing and that believing they are something and exclusively following them is divisive, inmature, wordly, the way of man, unscriptural and pride.

What I mean is this: Individuals among you are saying, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,”a or “I follow Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul. 1 Cor. 1:12-13.

Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. 1 Cor. 1:31

For you are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and dissension among you, are you not worldly? Are you not walking in the way of man? 4For when one of you says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men? 5What then is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, as the Lord has assigned to each his role. 1 Cor. 3:3-5.

So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 1 Cor. 3:7

Therefore, stop boasting in men. 1 Cor. 3:21

So then, men ought to regard us as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1 Cor. 4:1

Brothers, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us not to go beyond what is written. Then you will not take pride in one man over another. 7 For who makes you so superior?. 1 Cor. 4:6-7
